Indiana Thespians strive to excel both on stage and off. The Indiana Thespians would like to recognize those troupes who achieve a high level of excellence by sponsoring the Indiana Thespian Honor Troupe. This achievement is meant for those troupes who do tremendous work in their school and community and should be recognized. There is no limit to the number who can apply or be recognized each year. The application process will include the following:
- Creating a 3-5 minute video recapping your 2022-2023 season
- Submit the online application; note that there is a separate application for Junior Troupes and High School Troupes!
- As part of the online application you will have to answer questions based on the categories listed in this document.
Awards will be presented at the Indiana Thespians State Conference in January. Plaques will be awarded for those who receive Gold, Silver, or Bronze rankings. In addition, each school will receive a letter addressed to their principal celebrating their achievement.
Please, organize your portfolio in the following categories: Theatre Production, Participation, Theatre Outreach, and Community Service. You may include more than one artifact for an event. For example, you may include photos, tickets, programs, and posters.
Schools may earn between zero and the maximum total of points possible in any category. Points totaling over 100 will only be considered if all maximum point totals were met in all four categories. It is not necessary to perform in all categories for a level lower than Gold.
Gold: 90-100 points
Silver: 80-89 points
Bronze: 70-79 points
Honorable Mention: under 70 points
Troupes are recognized with plaques at our State Conference each January!
How To Apply
The deadline to submit your portfolio is October 15, but you can submit earlier than that! This is a great project for your leadership team to work on!
